Social media users have noticed what they describe as an ‘awkward’ interaction between Timothée Chalamet and Kylie Jenner at a tennis match held on Sunday (March 9).
Chalamet and Jenner were spotted together over the weekend at the 2025 BNP Paribas Open tennis tournament in California, where they watched Holger Rune from Denmark compete against Ugo Humbert from France.
During the match, the camera frequently focused on Chalamet and Jenner during breaks, capturing an exchange that some fans found embarrassing on behalf of the pair.
A viral clip on Twitter shows Jenner holding Chalamet’s face and going in for a kiss, while he seems more focused on the match. This prompted a Twitter user to comment, “I sure hope Miss Club is reacting to Timothée not wanting to kiss Kylie and barely paying attention to her,” referencing a fan page named Club Chalamet.
However, another fan defended the couple, tweeting: “Not really fair to say, a lot of people don’t like forced pose kissing pics. they’re awkward.”
The tournament is known for drawing celebrity couples, with last year’s attendees including Zendaya and fellow actor Tom Holland.
Despite being seen with Jenner over the weekend, many were curious about her absence alongside Chalamet at the Oscars, as she wasn’t immediately visible on the red carpet.
Chalamet attended the 2025 Oscars solo last Monday (3 March), causing some confusion among viewers.
He appeared in a custom Givenchy pale yellow suit with a Cartier choker, reported by Page Six. Although his outfit drew attention, many fans wondered about Jenner’s whereabouts.
One user tweeted: “Wait where is kylie.”
“Where’s Kylie,” another echoed.
Jenner was indeed present at the Oscars, albeit temporarily out of sight. The Hollywood Reporter later captured her sharing a ‘sweet moment’ with Chalamet inside the venue.
During the ceremony, Chalamet was honored with the Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role Award at the Screen Actors Guild Awards the previous month.
In his acceptance speech, the actor shared, “I know the classiest thing would be to downplay the effort that went into this role and how much this means to me, but the truth is this was five and a half years of my life.”
