Fans Recently Discover Megan Fox’s Unusual ‘Murderer’s Thumb’ Condition

Megan Fox’s fans have recently become aware of her unusual condition, known as ‘murderer’s thumb’.

The 38-year-old actress has had a successful career, appearing in numerous hit projects.

However, success often brings online criticism, and Fox has not hesitated to confront these challenges in the past.

Although she is often seen as a sex symbol, her thumbs have been a subject of discussion among social media users for much of her career.

In an interview with Sports Illustrated for the 2023 swimsuit edition, she expressed: “I don’t know why people are so fascinated by my thumbs.

“Like, I never thought that was a weird thing or an embarrassing thing. They’re just kind of short. Is it really that crazy?”

Fox elaborated that her distinct thumbs are a result of brachydactyly, a genetic condition that leads to shorter fingers or toes than usual.

The non-scientific term for this condition is ‘murderer’s thumb’, although it is not associated with negative effects beyond its peculiar name.

Fox has previously mentioned that her shorter fingers have significance in palmistry.

“It’s known in palmistry as a ‘murderer’s thumb’. Because they say the shorter this area from the knuckle to the tip of the finger is – especially the thumb – correlates to how short your temper is,” she explained.

Despite this, Fox clarified that she doesn’t fit this description, stating that it takes a lot for her to lose her temper.

While people may focus on her thumbs, Fox herself believes there are far more interesting imperfections to discuss.

She continued: “I think I have tons of other flaws that are way more interesting than my thumbs. I don’t know why people focus on that. I don’t know.”

Recently, some have only just noticed Fox’s condition, with a Twitter user humorously commenting: “Thumb got transformed.”

Fox has previously opened up about her ‘deep insecurities’ and her lifelong ‘awareness’ and ‘obsession’ with her body.

In a 2021 interview with Machine Gun Kelly for British GQ Style, Fox revealed: “Yeah, I have body dysmorphia. I have a lot of deep insecurities.

“We may look at somebody and think, ‘That person’s so beautiful. Their life must be so easy’. They most likely don’t feel that way about themselves.”
