The FBI has provided an update on Nancy Guthrie following a statement made by Trump indicating his intention to utilize all federal law enforcement resources to locate her.
Nancy Guthrie, the mother of TODAY co-anchor Savannah Guthrie, remains missing after not attending church nearly a week ago, on February 1.
Authorities have expressed concern over the 84-year-old’s disappearance, noting it occurred under ‘concerning circumstances,’ prompting an investigation.
The Pima County Sheriff’s Office is currently treating her Catalina Foothills, Tucson, Arizona, residence as an ‘active crime scene,’ emphasizing that it does not seem likely she ‘willingly’ left the location.
On February 5, Trump provided an update on the situation through Truth Social.
He stated that he had communicated with Savannah, informing her, “I am directing ALL Federal Law Enforcement to be at the family’s, and Local Law Enforcement’s, complete disposal, IMMEDIATELY.”

He further stated: “We are deploying all resources to get her mother home safely. The prayers of our Nation are with her and her family.
“GOD BLESS AND PROTECT NANCY! PRESIDENT DONALD J. TRUMP.”
On February 6, the FBI noted they are investigating a new message that has surfaced.
This development follows reports of alleged ransom notes sent to TMZ and CBS affiliate KOLD-TV, which demanded Bitcoin for Nancy’s safe return.
The official statement read: “The FBI and Pima County Sheriff’s Department are aware of a new message regarding Nancy Guthrie.
“Investigators are actively inspecting the information provided in the message for its authenticity.
“While this is one new piece of information, the FBI and the Pima County Sheriff’s Department are still asking anyone with tips to contact the FBI at 1-800-CALL-FBI. The FBI continues to offer a reward of up to $50,000 for information leading to the recovery of Nancy Guthrie and/or the arrest and conviction of anyone involved in her disappearance.”
