The FBI has provided an update on its investigation into the killing of Charlie Kirk.
Kirk was shot and killed yesterday (September 10) while delivering a speech at Utah Valley University. He was struck in the neck and transported to the hospital, where he later died from his injuries. Kirk leaves behind a wife and two young children.
A nationwide search is underway for the shooter. Although the suspect has not yet been apprehended, the FBI has confirmed that a gun believed to be the murder weapon has been found.
FBI Special Agent in Charge Robert Bohls stated that the weapon is a rifle, and they suspect it to be “the weapon that was used in yesterday’s shooting.”
Additionally, investigators have discovered and are examining evidence including a “footwear impression, a paw print, and a forearm imprint,” according to the BBC.
Further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
