The FBI continues to share information about the suspect in the shooting of Charlie Kirk, as they pursue the individual responsible for the crime.
The shooting of Charlie Kirk, which occurred while he was speaking at Utah Valley University on September 10, has left the nation in shock.
Footage showing Kirk being fatally shot with a single bullet has been widely shared across social media platforms.
Authorities initially apprehended a person of interest; however, they have clarified that this individual is not believed to be the shooter. The assailant remains on the loose.
Updates regarding the investigation into Charlie Kirk’s shooter are being posted by the FBI on its Twitter account.
On September 11, the FBI released a photograph of a person of interest, appealing to the public to assist in identifying or locating this individual.
The message stated: “We are asking for the public’s help identifying this person of interest in connection with the fatal shooting of Charlie Kirk at Utah Valley University’.
“1-800-CALL-FBI”, the agency added, for anyone with information.”
A subsequent post on the FBI’s social media page provided additional information about the suspect and his escape after the fatal shooting.
The post stated: “The FBI is releasing video of the shooter who murdered Charlie Kirk at Utah Valley University on September 10, 2025. Following the shooting, the individual jumps from a rooftop and runs away from the location.
“Trace evidence collected from the rooftop includes shoe impressions, a forearm imprint, and a palm print. The shooter’s weapon and ammunition were recovered from a wooded area near the university.”
The footage illustrates the suspect leaping from a building at the university and making his escape.
During a press conference on September 11, Utah Department of Public Safety Commissioner Beau Mason confirmed that authorities possess ‘good video’ of the suspect.
Mason mentioned that officials are exploring technological methods to identify the suspect but assured the public they would seek assistance if necessary.
“If we are unsuccessful, we will reach out to you as the media and we will push that publicly to help us identify them,” Mason said. “But we are confident in our abilities right now.”
The shooter was also captured by some residents’ doorbell cameras, and the FBI has urged locals to review their footage and submit any relevant findings to the agency.
