Blake Shelton is giving fans a sneak peek at the new celebrity competition program Barmageddon, which will be the country singer’s first onscreen project after he announced that he was leaving The Voice last week.
Carson Daly, Shelton’s friend and fellow Voice co-star, will star in and executive produces the new show. WWE Hall of Famer Nikki Bella will host the event. The clip teases performances by Shelton as well as other celebrity guests.
In each episode, the trio will gather at Shelton’s Nashville pub, Ole Red, to watch their famous pals engage in outrageous bar games. Air cannon cornhole, drunken axe hole, and keg curling are now at the top of the list. The press announcement for the program says, “The games are big, the antics are loud, and the competition is ludicrous in the best way.”
Who’s first on the list? Gwen Stefani, Shelton’s wife, will compete against Sheryl Crow. Elle King and Chris Young are also on the roster, as are Clint Bowyer and Jimmie Johnson, Sasha Banks and Brie Bella, Jay Pharoah and Martin Kove, Trace Adkins and Coach Mike Vrabel, Lil Rel Howery and Malin Akerman, and Shelton himself, who will face Kane Brown.
“I’m horny as hell, so I’m ready,” King says in the trailer.
“With my wife, I think she just felt a little bit sorry for me,” Shelton jokes in the trailer when Stefani is introduced as a guest. “For sure,” Daly says.
Stefani’s challenges are shown in the video, with her and Daly sporting “beer goggles.”
“This is drunk. This is like when-you-agreed-to-marry-Blake-Shelton drunk,” Daly says through his blurred vision.
In each episode, the two featured celebrities compete in a series of five bar games to gain redemption for a viral internet celebrity of their choice.
“Plucked from obscurity following their epic misadventures online, these now-infamous stars find themselves at Ole Red hoping to be redeemed,” the press release continues. “The competition heats up when the losing rival of each round has a chance to even the score by spinning the Wheel of Redemption, a risky move with hilarious consequences.”
The teaser shows one instance of atonement when Shelton and Daly force Crow to drink a shot comprised of tequila, tabasco sauce, and mayonnaise.
“When people watch Barmageddon, that’s your ticket to have the most fun you could ever imagine on TV,” Daly says.
Barmageddon begins on USA Network on Monday, December 5 at 11 p.m. ET/PT.
