Food enthusiasts have discovered a tip to enhance the experience of ordering Five Guys’ renowned fries.

Unlike typical fast-food establishments, Five Guys fries their twice-cooked fries in peanut oil freshly onsite. However, a specific request before ordering can elevate them to ‘a thing of beauty,’ according to one aficionado.

Delish in 2018 and CozyMeal this year highlighted that asking Five Guys for ‘well done’ fries results in a crunchier texture.

This method involves cooking the fries for a longer period, making them crispier and, for many, tastier.

Customers have taken to social media platforms to express their enthusiasm for this insider tip.

On X (formerly Twitter), one user shared: “The trick is to order Five Guys’ fries “well done” or “extra crispy”. It can vary from location to location too. If you find a good one though… they’re amazing.”

Another added: “Order your five guys fries well done… thank me later.”
