Flat Earthers Come to Terms with Reality in Antarctica Journey to Disprove Earth’s Roundness

“Alright guys, sometimes you are wrong in life,” admits a well-known Flat Earther.

Hearing conspiracy theorists finally acknowledge their errors when faced with undeniable evidence brings a sense of relief.

It’s astonishing to think that Flat Earthers still persist, and whether they truly believe their own claims is another matter entirely. However, NASA critic Jeran Campanella has shared his thoughts on the Earth’s shape.

During his appearance on the YouTube channel The Final Experiment, Campanella discusses being flown to Antarctica for $35,000, a trip apparently funded by a “glober”—the term Flat Earthers use for those who accept Earth’s roundness.

The expedition aimed to demonstrate the absence of a midnight sun, which, on a flat Earth, wouldn’t be possible. However, we know that during the summer, the sun does remain visible 24 hours a day.

“Alright guys, sometimes you are wrong in life,” Campanella, who operates his own YouTube channel Jeransim, admits.

“I once believed there was no 24-hour sun; in fact, I was quite certain of it. But I have to commend Will Duffy [the ‘glober’ who paid for his trip] for being a standup guy—at least in his persistent claims that it was true, while I insisted it wasn’t.

“He said, ‘you want to go, I’ll take you,’ and brought me here… and it’s a fact the sun does circle you in the south, so what that means is something you guys will have to figure out yourselves.”

Campanella, who has featured in several documentaries arguing for a flat Earth, continued: “Don’t rely on my beliefs or opinions; they shouldn’t impact you. But at the very least, you should accept that the sun performs exactly as these people claimed, circling the southern continent.”

“So that’s about it. I understand that I’ll be labeled a shill for saying this, and you know what, if being honest makes me a shill, so be it—I genuinely believed there was no 24-hour sun… and now I genuinely believe there is. That’s it.”

So, what exactly is a shill?

According to a user on The Flat Earth Society forum: “From a FEer [flat earther] perspective, a shill is someone posing as an REer [round earther] to undermine the ‘truth’ of a FE [flat earth] and trying to entice others to the RE [round earth] viewpoint. This makes you a shill. You know that the world is flat, yet you attempt to undermine that by claiming the world is round.”

On Reddit, users reacted to the experiment. One person commented: “I suspect flat earthers do this so that eventually, people will be so frustrated they’ll offer them a free flight to space just to prove them wrong.”

Another user added: “This is how I see many ‘high profile’ flat-earthers. It’s not really about proving the earth is flat. It’s about attracting attention and everything that comes with it. They’re akin to conmen in a way.”

So, as most of us already knew… the Earth is round.
