Russian photographer Alexander Yakolev wowed us before with his incredible shots of dancers. Now he’s back with yet more awe-inspiring photographs.
Alexander’s new series is called “The Mirages.”

Based in Moscow, Alexander is a recent law graduate at Russian State University — but his true passion is dance photography.

The graceful movements of the dancers are emphasised with exploding flour circling around the subjects.

The dynamic shots capture the awesome strength and precision of the dancers.

Alexander shoots most of the photographs in black and white to totally focus the viewer on the human form.

He says on his website, “It is a good viewpoint to see the world as a dream.”

The nearly-naked models show off every muscle and curve of their bodies.

The models are all professional ballet dancers (we’re only a bit jealous of their amazing figures).

Alexander deliberately contrasts soft flour and flowing hair with the taut muscles of the dancers.

And the results are these amazing freeze-frames.

Some of the poses look surreal (and impossible).

While others are more like something out of a fairytale.

The flour makes the models look as if they’re underwater.

And at times they appear to be statues.

The explosive scenes have gained Alexander 30,000 Instagram followers.

You can see more of Alexander’s work, including The Mirages and more dance photography, at his website.

We can’t wait for the next series.

Spectacular.
