Former Atheist Who ‘Heard the Voice of Satan’ Reveals What Satan Told Him

Bishop Alan DiDio says a demonic encounter at age 17 ended his atheism and launched his ministry.

The North Carolina preacher, who now leads Revival Nation Church, was a skeptical teenager in 1998 when he attended a friend’s Christian youth group gathering. DiDio, then 17, had spent his adolescent years focused on staying out of jail and had no belief in God, he explained during an appearance on RevivalRadioTV.

At the event, DiDio says he heard what he identified as the voice of Satan. The presence spoke directly to him with a warning: do not believe in God and do not go near Christians. Rather than flee, DiDio says he responded instinctively with a declaration of faith.

“I just said, ‘Satan, you can’t have me anymore. Jesus, I’m all yours.’ And it immediately stopped, and it never came back again,” he told the program.

What followed, DiDio recounts, was a sudden mental “download” of Christian teachings despite his near-total unfamiliarity with the Bible. The experience propelled him into ministry, where he discovered others who reported similar supernatural encounters.

DiDio now teaches that demons are individually “assigned” to people on Earth with the specific mission of drawing them away from God. He believes the entity he confronted that night had likely shadowed him for years prior to the youth group incident.

The bishop connects his personal story to broader prophetic claims about the end times. Citing Revelation 12, he pointed to scripture describing Satan’s final aggressive push: “There’s an interesting verse in Revelation 12 that says that Satan will come down in great wrath knowing his time is short.”

Many interpreters link this passage to the Tribulation, a seven-year period of biblical prophecy involving widespread chaos and the reign of evil before Jesus’s return.

“So, it could be that we are living in the last days, and I believe we’re seeing prophecy fulfilled all around us,” DiDio said.

He argued that reported increases in demonic activity align with scripture, adding: “And it is absolutely biblical to say we are seeing an increase in demonic activity. You have to combine that with verses like, ‘when sin does abound, grace does much more abound.’ And we know that if the enemy has a plan, God has a plan.”

DiDio offered reassurance to believers who fear spiritual warfare, emphasizing that divine response matches demonic escalation. His message frames spiritual conflict as an expected feature of the current era rather than cause for despair.

The bishop’s account places him within a tradition of Christian testimonies involving dramatic conversion through supernatural confrontation, though his specific claims of auditory demonic address and instantaneous theological knowledge remain distinctive elements of his narrative.
