Francia Raisa speaks out on rumored feud with Selena Gomez after missing wedding invite

Francia Raisa has addressed rumors regarding a potential rift with Selena Gomez after she was absent from Gomez’s marriage ceremony.

In 2017, Gomez underwent a kidney transplant due to her battle with Lupus, a condition that affects the immune system.

The news of Gomez’s health struggles was a surprise to many of her followers, yet she revealed that her friend, actress Raisa, stepped forward as a donor.

Gomez expressed her gratitude to Raisa through a detailed Instagram message, where she also thanked her supporters, loved ones, and medical team.

With Gomez tying the knot with Benny Blanco, fans anticipated Raisa’s presence at the event. However, she was notably missing from the guest lists shared online.

Prior to the wedding, Raisa dismissed the notion of a falling out with Gomez and offered her perspective on the matter.

During an interview at a bookstore event, she extended her best wishes to Gomez, speaking in Spanish.

Her words, translated, were: “I know she’s getting married, and I’m very happy for her. And look…she has a life and she is already a billionaire, and I am grateful that I could do that for her.”

Raisa also spoke about common misconceptions surrounding organ donation. When asked for advice for potential donors, she highlighted that the primary focus should be on saving a life, not necessarily forming a deeper connection.

She explained: “Look, from the beginning the doctors told me, it’s a donation.

“If you are going to donate a dollar to St. Jude or somewhere else, you’re not going to call to say, ‘Hey, what are you doing with my dollar?’

“It’s a donation and it’s something nice that I was able to do. I am grateful that I am alive and I can say that I have saved a life.”

Speculation about a dispute isn’t new.

In 2022, observant fans speculated tension when Gomez stated that Taylor Swift was her sole friend in the industry.

Raisa responded with the word ‘interesting’ in a now-deleted post, to which Gomez replied, ‘Sorry didn’t mention everyone I know’.

In the following year, Gomez once again downplayed any feud rumors, expressing her eternal gratitude to Raisa.

She remarked: “’I will never, ever, ever be more in debt to a person than Francia. The idea of someone not even second-guessing to be a donor was unbelievably overwhelming.”
