“Freaks and Geeks creator teases potential comeback under one condition”

The creator of *Freaks and Geeks* has finally addressed the calls for the iconic show to return, but there’s a caveat.

Many of Hollywood’s biggest names had rather humble beginnings, and quite a few owe their success to starring in this particular show.

If the coming-of-age comedy series hasn’t crossed your radar yet, you should definitely watch it ASAP!

Even if you’re unfamiliar with the show, you will undoubtedly recognize its cast.

If you were to watch it now, you’d immediately spot the future all-star actors.

The cast included a young Linda Cardellini, James Franco, Jason Segel, Seth Rogen, and Busy Philipps, among others.

Despite only running for one season, the show has maintained a beloved status since its premiere in 1999.

“Listen, I don’t care whether Netflix keeps or doesn’t keep *Friends*, all I want is a reboot of *Freaks and Geeks*,” one fan on Twitter wrote.

“It’s never too late for a *Freaks and Geeks* reboot. I need to see them as adults,” another commented.

“If Paul/Judd were to create (or even reboot) *FREAKS & GEEKS* today, it would be the most popular show on TV,”

The demand is certainly there, but what does the creator think?

The mind behind the show, director Paul Feig, said this about his upcoming film *JACKPOT!*, starring Awkwafina and John Cena, and weighed in on the possibility of a reboot when asked.

He stated: “This September I believe is the 25th anniversary of the show.

“I mean, people always want to do a sequel, reunion or something and I’m not a fan of those kinds of things.

“I’ve rarely seen them be like ‘oh I’m so glad they did that’ [more often] it’s ‘oh I kind of wish they didn’t do that.’”

Though this might not sound very promising for a reboot, Feig did admit there is a glimmer of hope.

“If I had a story, if some great idea came into my head, yeah, fine. Because also, the [actors] are still young, it is always sad when you do a reunion and they are all old.

“But they are all in their prime so you never know.”

Feig’s stance is a solid “maybe,” but another key player appears harder to persuade.

In 2023, one of the show’s stars, Seth Rogen, dismissed the likelihood of a reboot or reunion.

Speaking to People, he said: “I know enough now not to f*** with that, to just let it be good and not try to go revisit it.

“Just let it exist.”

So, whether or not we’ll see the return of *Freaks and Geeks* remains uncertain, but it’s fun to imagine.

*JACKPOT!* will be available worldwide on Prime Video on 15 August 2024.
