Nathalie Rodriguez Gonzalez was arrested Friday on charges of threats and extortion after allegedly blackmailing her lover for $20,000, according to WPLG Local 10.
The 19-year-old Miami waitress, listed in jail records at 5-feet-1, met the well-off victim while waiting on his table at the restaurant where she worked, police said. They began dating, but the relationship soured when she discovered he already had a girlfriend and she had been his side-piece all along.
Rather than walk away, Rodriguez Gonzalez allegedly launched a campaign of threats and demands. She sent her lover text messages demanding $20,000 and warning that the price would jump to $25,000 if he refused, according to cops. She threatened to send intimate photos to his girlfriend and business partner.
When the man did not pay, Rodriguez Gonzalez allegedly made good on her threats. She sent one of the photos to his business partner with a provocative question.
“Should I post this on my IG and tag everyone??” Rodriguez Gonzalez wrote, according to police.
She also asked the business partner for the victim’s girlfriend’s phone number, then sent the photo to the girlfriend directly. “This will genuinely get posted if he doesn’t wire me money BTW,” she told the woman, according to cops.
Rodriguez Gonzalez escalated further by posting a censored version of the photo and other pictures on her TikTok account, WPLG reported. The threatening messages continued to flow, including one that referenced the victim’s immigration status: “The deportation does not have to happen, but I want my money.”
Other alleged messages grew more explicit in their threats. “If he doesn’t wire me the money, his d–k. Will get posted followed by your face, his face,” she wrote, according to police. Another read: “Give me my money or I escalate this worse.”
In a separate message thread, Rodriguez Gonzalez appeared to frame the scheme as premeditated rather than a crime of passion. “Remember I was tryna scam him, I’m finally getting to it,” she wrote, according to WPLG.
The victim reported her to authorities on Aug. 24, going to the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office Kendall District station and identifying her from a photo. Rodriguez Gonzalez was taken into custody at her home Friday, brought to the station for questioning, and reportedly gave a “full confession.”
She was held at the Turner Guilford Correctional Center near Miami International Airport on $7,500 bond and later appeared to be released.
