If you’re sick of the sexist drivel that’s widespread on the Internet and most magazines these days, you’re not alone. After all, do we really need to know “How to Give a Finger Blow Job”, or if “Seafood Makes Guys Horny”? Does it really matter if men approve of what you’re wearing, or which Disney princess you’re most like?
Luckily, cartoonist Gemma Correll is just as tired of it all as the rest of us.

So she now uses her talent to create hilarious feminist comics — comics that poke fun at topics that are supposed to appeal to women.
“l’ll buy a crappy Cosmo or whatever, and then I just hate myself for buying it.”
“I just think it’s so funny.”
“I think the best way to get important issues across is to use humor.”
She hopes that her work can help young girls who are exploring gender issues for the first time.
“I have always enjoyed drawing,” she said.
“When I was very young, I started making my own ‘books’ where I’d write and illustrate a story in old notebooks that I found.”
Now a full time illustrator with several books to her name, Gemma also tackles other issues, such as Internet trolling . . .
…and bullying.
She is also a lover of puns . . .
…and pugs alike.
Her advice to aspiring doodlers: “Don’t worry too much about being neat and tidy, that’s the point of a doodle.”
“Relax and draw whatever comes into your head.”
