Disagreements are a natural part of most marriages, but George Clooney has shared a surprising detail about his 10-year marriage with Amal. The actor, aged 63, married Amal, an international human rights lawyer who is 47, in September 2014. They became parents to twins, Alexander and Ella, in June 2017.
While promoting his Broadway debut, “Good Night, and Good Luck,” Clooney spoke with The New York Times about his family life and the moment he met Amal in 2013. He shared, “I wasn’t really in the market for being a dad. Then I met Amal and we fell in love. I have to say that, after that, everything made sense.”
Initially, Clooney doubted he had much of a chance with Amal due to their age difference. Reflecting on their first meeting, he said, “I was like, ‘Oh my God!’ Then I didn’t really think I’d have much of a chance with her because I was 17 years older and she seemed to have everything she needed.”
In a recent CBS Mornings appearance, Clooney revealed that he and Amal haven’t had any arguments in their marriage. “I remember we were here with you once before, and I remember we said we’d never had an argument,” he mentioned, recalling a previous interview. “We still haven’t. We’re trying to find something to fight about.”
Host Gayle King commented, “I remember when you said you’d never get married and never have kids. Now you’re married and you have two children.” Clooney humorously replied, “Look what happened to me,” and added, “I feel so extraordinarily lucky to have met this incredible woman. And I feel as if I hit the jackpot. There isn’t a day that goes by where I don’t think I’m the luckiest man in the world. So it’s great.”
During the CBS Mornings discussion, Clooney also addressed Donald Trump’s remarks, calling him a ‘fake movie actor’.
In response, Clooney told King, “I don’t care. I’ve known Donald Trump for a long time. My job is not to please the president of the United States. My job is to try and tell the truth when I can and when I have the opportunity. I am well aware of the idea that people will not like that. People will criticise that. Elon Musk has weighed in [about me]. That is their right. It’s my right to say the other side.”
Previously, Trump posted on Truth Social: “So now fake movie actor George Clooney, who never came close to making a great movie, is getting into the act. He’s turned on Crooked Joe like the rats they both are.”
