7 Daily Habits Of Monks Which Boost Happiness Instantly

Monks don’t have technology or the comforts of modern life. They do chores and live simply, which doesn’t sound like a lot of fun. So why is it that buddhist monks seem so deliriously happy all the time? These 7 daily habits might have something to do with it.

#1. Waking up at dawn.

Rising early with the sun is one of the main practices of buddhist monks. Greeting the sun as it rises in the morning puts life into perspective and helps you realize that there is something bigger than yourself.  Waking up early also gives you quiet time before the day starts. Use it to harness your energy and create intention in your life, bringing about inner peace and appreciation.

#2. Practising selfless deeds.

The Buddha’s first order, given five months after his enlightenment, was to go out and reach people. Monks strive to help others. They meditate with the intention of wishing others happiness but also go out and make a real difference in their communities. Their whole life is focused on helping others.
