Gia Giudice has addressed her role as the steadying force during her sister Milania’s public airport breakdown.
The 25-year-old responded to a fan on TikTok Thursday who praised her composure during the family crisis. The exchange came on a video showing Gia getting ready for the “Next Gen NYC” Season 2 reunion.
The commenter wrote, “Gia as the older sister trying to be the calm peacemaker I get you 😂😂😂.” Gia fired back, “job of being the oldest.” She also “liked” two other comments on the same post: one reading “praying for your sister” and another saying “you’re a good sister gia.”
The social media activity marked Gia’s first public remarks since the Wednesday incident at Tampa International Airport, where police surrounded Milania, 20, their mother Teresa Giudice, 54, and Gia herself in a tense confrontation captured on video.
Milania had posted footage of the encounter to her own account before deleting it. In the clip, she repeatedly demanded, “This is what we do now?” while Teresa told her, “I love you,” and Gia attempted to defuse tensions by telling her mother, “Let her do what she wants to do.” Milania then directed an expletive at both women, telling them to “shut the f–k up.”
According to an incident report obtained by outlets, authorities had been alerted that Milania was “having suicidal thoughts” and experiencing a “mental breakdown.” The document noted she had recently been discharged from a hospital and was traveling with a counselor.
Milania broke away from the group during the encounter and was seen running through the terminal. Police located her approximately 10 minutes later and escorted her to her departure gate.
Her manager confirmed Thursday that Milania is “under the care of professionals” following the airport episode. The representative shared a statement emphasizing the family’s collective support: “Milania is deeply loved by her family and friends, and all of us are doing everything we can to support her as she navigates an incredibly difficult time in her life, particularly following the devastating loss of her best friend, Victoria.”
Joe Giudice, 54, spoke exclusively the same day about how the July death of Milania’s close friend Victoria Zardoya has weighed on his daughter. “Milania is a good girl. She has a big heart, she loves deeply, and she cares enormously about the people in her life,” he said. “She is also young and going through a very difficult period right now.”
The airport incident follows a May arrest in New Jersey, where Milania was charged with simple assault after a domestic dispute at Teresa and stepfather Luis Ruelas’s home. Her sister Gabriella, 22, had called police to report Milania throwing food and candles and behaving erratically. During arraignment, a judge alleged Milania struck someone identified only as “LR” in the head with her fist, causing forehead redness. She pleaded not guilty and enrolled in anger management as the case continues.
