Rex Heuermann has entered guilty pleas in connection with the murders of seven women and also admitted to the murder of an eighth during a court appearance.
Known publicly as the Gilgo Beach serial killer, Heuermann addressed the charges one by one and pleaded guilty to each count in the Long Island courtroom.
During the proceedings, a judge questioned him about his decision to plead guilty, asking: “Do you understand that by pleading guilty, you waive your rights to a fair trial?”
Heuermann answered: “Yes, your honor.\”
District attorney Ray Tierney also pressed Heuermann on specifics of the cases, including questions about how the killings were carried out.
