Golf expert describes her reaction to a 20-year veteran advising her on her swing

A professional golfer has shared her reaction after a man with ’20 years’ of experience attempted to offer her guidance.

Georgia Ball, hailing from the UK, is a PGA professional golfer who also provides coaching to others.

Given her professional status, it’s clear she knows her way around a golf club. Therefore, it’s understandable why she was perplexed when a man approached her, offering unsolicited advice.

The incident occurred at a driving range where the stranger told Georgia she was golfing incorrectly.

Georgia explained she was experimenting with a new swing style, but the man persisted, asserting that he had been ‘playing golf for 20 years.’

Georgia, who was filming herself when approached, shared the video online, quickly capturing the internet’s attention.

Viewers were quick to criticize the man for ‘mansplaining’ golf to a professional, while others commended Georgia for her calm and polite demeanor, noting her ‘levels of class and restraint.’

Speaking to LADbible about the situation, Georgia said: “To be honest the entire experience has been overwhelming – but in a very good way of course!”

She further explained that she typically welcomes advice from others: “At the time during the conversation with him I was totally open to any advice and taking any feedback on board – as I am with anyone, pro golfer or not.”

However, she identified the point at which the man began to annoy her: “It was when he wouldn’t let me speak or let me properly explain what I was doing with my swing change, I just thought it was best to get back to my practice session.”

“In the moment I honestly didn’t know what to say and was quite shocked but now I can look back and see the funny side as many people have online and around the world.”

Georgia highlighted that ’99 percent’ of her interactions with other golfers are ‘super positive, supportive and fantastic.’

“Everyone in this sport is here to help each other and grow the sport which is something I’m massively passionate about,” she said.

“This was the first time an interaction like this to this extent has happened and I think that’s why I was so taken aback in the moment.”

Georgia continues to offer her own advice to golfers, which can be found on her social media platforms and website.
