Grimes Reveals Surprising Insights on Co-Parenting with Elon Musk

Grimes has recently opened up about her co-parenting situation with Elon Musk in an unexpected way.

The artist, originally named Claire Elise Boucher, shares three children with Musk.

These children include their sons X Æ A-Xii, aged five, and Techno Mechanicus, aged three, as well as their daughter Exa Dark Sideræl, who is four.

Historically, Grimes, 37, has been private about her family life, valuing her children’s privacy.

However, in a rare move, Grimes shared some details about her parenting partnership with Elon Musk, the tech magnate, through a post on her social media accounts.

Musk, 54, has a total of 14 children with four different women.

Grimes and Musk began their relationship in 2018, and Grimes announced their split in March 2022.

Using her social media platform, she revealed some aspects of their co-parenting relationship.

In a message shared on Musk’s social network X on January 22, Grimes stated: “I try to never talk [about] or show my kids because they deserve the right to anonymity but I just have to say their pure aura is unmatched.”

She continued: “One of them even inexplicably commanded a flock of crows for [a] while. Might be biased but this seems unusual.”

Social media users supported Grimes’ stance on maintaining her children’s privacy, with comments like ‘using kids for clout is sh**y af’, and others simply saying ‘agree’.

Another user inquired about the issue of screen time, a hot topic in parenting due to worries about its effects on children’s growth.

Grimes acknowledged this as a challenging matter, saying: “Huge debate cuz the other parent is fine w it but it’s fairly avoided.”

She elaborated: “If it happens we focus on great art and ideally slower stuff like ghibli that isn’t constantly changing context.”

Ghibli refers to the renowned Japanese animation studio famous for its unique and gentle animation style.

This is not the first instance where Grimes has addressed concerns about her children’s privacy.

In March 2025, following an event where Musk brought X Æ A-Xii to a media-covered press conference at the White House, Grimes expressed on X: “I unfortunately do not control the internet and cannot wipe this from the internet. I have tried begging the public and my kids’ dad to keep them offline, and I’ve tried legal recourse.”

She added her frustration by saying: “The state of my children’s lives being public is of grave concern to me and I think about how to solve this every day.

“It’s insane to me that there’s no way to deal with this.”
