Brandi Glanville announced her father Guy Glanville died Saturday at age 77.
The former “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star, 53, broke the news on X alongside a broken heart emoji. “My dad died, I’m gutted I hate this life right now,” she wrote. Brandi did not disclose her father’s cause of death.

The loss lands during a brutal stretch for the “Celebrity Big Brother” alum, who has spent months grappling with cascading health crises and mounting medical debt. She recently revealed her bills are running about $7,000 per week. Earlier this year, she posted on X that she had been “completely off the grid” while her father was hospitalized. “Dad in cardiac unit at the hospital & it’s day 13 now,” she wrote at the time. “We are both medical mysteries. Pray for my dad Guy Glanville.”

Brandi’s own medical troubles have played out publicly with startling specificity. She has said she is battling highly resistant ESBL Klebsiella and Enterobacter with biofilm, Coccidioidomycosis — also known as Valley fever — Demodex dermatitis and mononucleosis. In February, she blamed her condition on 20-year-old ruptured breast implants, claiming silicone had leaked into her lymph nodes. She also said she has a fungal ball in her face that she is preparing to have removed.

The television personality recently shared ultrasound footage on Instagram from an examination where her doctor, she said, “saw something alive” and “moving” in her face. “If I don’t find a doctor to cut this out of my face, I’m just going to do it myself,” she said in the video. A friend set up a GoFundMe to help with expenses, though Brandi said she felt “embarrassed” by the fundraiser.

Brandi and Guy’s relationship had weathered serious fractures before their eventual reconciliation. The pair appeared together on “Marriage Boot Camp: Reality Stars Family Edition” in 2018, but the experience backfired. “My dad and I, we left the show in a great space and then, when the show aired, we haven’t talked since,” Brandi told “Entertainment Tonight” shortly after the season premiere. “You know, he’s not done TV before, and I warned him ahead of time, ‘They’re not going to be able to show everything that we shot. They’re going to show the highlights, so you have to write down notes and understand it’s going to be the highlights of what we shot, and don’t get mad — you’re gonna get mad all over again,’ and ultimately, he did.”

Despite the rift, Brandi made clear her affection ran deep. “He’s everything,” she shared during the same interview, adding she was “leaving [it] in his corner” because of her own tendency to get “a little aggressive.” She also noted she “love[s] him dearly” even as they weren’t speaking.

The father and daughter later repaired their bond, and Guy even stepped into the spotlight to defend Brandi during her explosive feud with fellow Bravo star Denise Richards. “My daughter may be many things, sometimes an a–hole, but she is not a liar,” Guy said in a video shared via Instagram at the time, according to Us Magazine.

Brandi’s health ordeal has included at least one surgical consideration she has publicly hesitated over. Days before her father’s death, she admitted surgery “scares me,” part of the ongoing calculus she faces as she weighs procedures to address the conditions she has detailed.

The former model first gained national attention on “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” beginning in 2011, building a reputation for unfiltered commentary that carried through subsequent stints on “Celebrity Big Brother,” “Marriage Boot Camp” and other reality formats. Her candor about personal struggles — financial, medical and now familial — has remained a throughline of her public persona.
Brandi’s spokesperson did not reply for comment regarding her father’s death.
