Haitian Singer Mikaben Dies After Collapsing on Stage During Concert in Paris

Mikaben, a well-known Haitian artist, died after fainting on stage during a concert in Paris, France. He was 41.

The famed performer, whose actual name is Michael Benjamin, was playing as a guest of the Haitian group Carimi at the 20,000-seat Accor Arena.

Mikaben slumped as he exited the stage, much to the surprise of the spectators, and was whisked to be examined by emergency personnel.

On Sunday, Accor Arena issued a message on Twitter confirming his death. Mikaben “died after suffering a malaise on stage, despite the efforts of emergency services.”

Mikaben, the son of legendary musician Lionel Benjamin, was born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, in 1981. He developed a career and was recognized as a generational talent.

Vanessa, who is expecting their third child, expressed gratitude for the prayers and requested privacy while she grieves.
