Harrison Ford’s Candid Reaction to Jason Segel’s Full Frontal Nude Scene

Harrison Ford shared a candid remark with his Shrinking co-star Jason Segel after viewing Segel’s film Forgetting Sarah Marshall, which includes some explicit content.

Those familiar with Ford are aware that while he can be straightforward, the Indiana Jones star is known for his candidness on a wide range of topics – from his cinematic career to Donald Trump commending his role in Air Force One, to which Ford simply remarked it was “a movie.”

Ford didn’t hold back when giving Segel his straightforward feedback after seeing the 2008 film Forgetting Sarah Marshall, where the How I Met Your Mother actor appears in a full-frontal scene.

In Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Segel plays a music composer who is heartbroken after his girlfriend Sarah Marshall, portrayed by Kristen Bell, ends their relationship. In a bid to move on, he travels to Hawaii.

During an interview with Variety alongside Seth Rogen, Segel mentioned how they approached Ford to gauge his interest in playing Dr. Paul Rhoades in the TV series Shrinking.

“We got Harrison Ford because Harrison Ford is the kind of person you make an offer to so that for three days you can say, ‘We’ve made an offer to Harrison Ford,’ and then you’ll pick the real guy,” Segel said.

Ford wasn’t familiar with Segel at that point, but his interest piqued after reading the Shrinking script.

Ford was sent some of Segel’s earlier projects, including Forgetting Sarah Marshall. For those who’ve seen it, they likely remember the scene where Segel stands fully nude during a breakup.

After viewing the film, Ford commented and sent a message to Shrinking’s producer, Bill Lawrence.

“Then, apparently, Bill Lawrence got a text that said, ‘I’m in. And tell the kid, great d**k,'” Segel recounted to Variety.

Rogen quipped: “Even if he was out, that would be great. I would take that.”

Reflecting on the filming of that scene in 2015 with Vulture, Segel commented: “I thought that was hilarious. I was actually not very uncomfortable doing it. I really felt free.”

“You have to put it in the context that this was 2006, 2007, and this hadn’t been done before, in my recollection, where the main guy was going to be naked in the first five minutes of the movie,” he added.

Interestingly, Segel had a similarly awkward breakup in real life.

He shared on Conan O’Brien’s Needs A Friend podcast: “She arrived at the house and I had decided that the way to really kick off this sex was that I was waiting on the couch totally naked, like posed.”

However, the surprise backfired when she walked in and said, “We need to talk.”

That’s quite a unique way to end a relationship.
