Jessie Cave revealed she’s earned more in one year on OnlyFans than her entire acting career.
The actress, best known for playing Lavender Brown in the final three Harry Potter movies, joined OnlyFans in 2025 to supplement her income.
Cave, 39, told The Times in a recent interview: “I’ve earned more, easily, than my entire acting career within one year.”
Cave’s subscribers pay $6 a month to view her content, and she earns more for one-off “paid-for messages.”
Within a single day, she made £15,000, which equates to just over $20,000.
“I thought I’d make five grand, be on it for a few months, and it would buy me time to work out what we’re going to do,” she shared. “But it’s now been over a year and a half, and it’s genuinely saved our lives.”
Cave said she was at a point of complete desperation before joining.
“I couldn’t go and, say, work in a supermarket because I can’t afford the childcare, and also I don’t want people shouting Harry Potter spells at me as I work at Tesco,” she told The Times.
“I could retrain but I can’t afford to do a degree,” she added.
Cave shares four children with her fiancé, Alfie Brown.
The actress posts non-explicit hair fetish content on the platform.
“My rule is the hair is the main character,” she shared, noting, “That’s how I justify it.”
“There is a stigma,” Cave says. “I didn’t really understand the risk of people thinking I’m doing porn.”
“Yes, [OnlyFans] is largely porn,” she said. “But there are cooking videos, tarot readings, personal training — it’s just all done with a sexy edge.”
She captioned a social media post: “Happy six months to me on OnlyFanz. The most empowering thing I’ve done in my life. I’m grateful.”
She also spent her OnlyFans earnings on personal choices beyond covering bills.
“To celebrate my one-year anniversary doing ‘hair content,’ I got a boob job,” Cave captioned a recent mirror selfie on Instagram.
“Big fan of my new look so far. Wanted to do this for ages, but never thought I’d actually do it, much like I never thought I’d be doing what I do now for a living.”
Cave revealed she was recently excluded from a major Harry Potter fan convention because organizers declined to book her due to her OnlyFans association, stating she no longer aligned with their ‘family-friendly’ image.
“I found out that I didn’t get booked for a Harry Potter convention recently, as I’m now doing OnlyFans,” she wrote in a September 17 post.
However, she remained philosophical about the exclusion.
“There’s going to be a new cast now, and it’s a different time. Plus, I have done conventions for over 15 years and have enough photos and wizard memorabilia.”
In the viral moment that began in March 2025, Cave announced her OnlyFans launch via Instagram video and Substack, explaining that financial desperation drove her decision after years of struggling as an actress.
The decision was driven by financial strain, including a need to cover £8,000 in urgent home repairs.
“To get the house safe, cover the arsenic/lead wallpaper, build a new roof etc,”
she wrote. She emphasized the content would not be sexually explicit but rather focused on her long hair and its sensory appeal. Subscribers initially expected a brief one-year venture, but the earnings exceeded all her projections, prompting her to continue well into the following year.
The new Harry Potter series is expected to premiere in 2027.
