Bonnie Wright has introduced her newborn son to the world.
The “Harry Potter” alum, 35, revealed on Instagram Saturday that she and husband Andrew Lococo welcomed their second child, a boy named Aster Sky Wright Lococo, at home on September 28. The English actress, known for playing Ginny Weasley in the film franchise, shared the news alongside photos of the infant sleeping on her chest, Lococo pushing him in a stroller, and big brother Elio peering inside to get a closer look.
“Say hello to our son Aster Sky Wright Lococo born at home on the 28th September named after the star shaped flower,” Wright wrote in her caption.
The name carries layered meaning beyond its floral reference. Aster, of Greek origin, translates to both star and flower, and the blossom itself was considered sacred to Greek and Roman deities. Parenting site BUMP.com, which published a breakdown of the name, notes that aster is the birth flower for September — the exact month of Aster’s arrival. The site describes the name as “rich in antiquity and magic,” and ties the wildflower to mysticism through origin stories involving the goddess Persephone scattering stardust across the earth.

“Our little star has been showered in love by his big brother Elio,” Wright continued in her post. “Thank you universe for my loving bundle of boys! And thank you @umamother @meaghan_snider_ for guiding us through the birth portal.”

Aster joins Elio, who was born in September 2023, making the brothers nearly exactly a year apart in age. Wright and Lococo, who married in March 2022, now raise both boys in California.
The actress has largely stepped away from acting since the “Harry Potter” series concluded in 2011, pivoting instead to filmmaking. She studied at the London College of Communication and launched her own production company, BonBonLumiere, through which she has directed music videos, commercials and short films including “Separate We Come, Separate We Go” and “Medusa’s Ankles.” She has also appeared in independent features such as “The Sea” and “After the Dark,” and made her West End stage debut in “The Moment of Truth.”
Wright reunited with her former castmates in 2022 for the HBO Max special “Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts.” That same year, she published her debut book, “Go Gently: Actionable Steps to Nurture Yourself and the Planet,” and has maintained her work as an ambassador for Greenpeace and the Rainforest Alliance, campaigning on plastic pollution and climate change.
