The “Hawk Tuah girl,” Haliey Welch, has spoken out against those criticizing Charlie Kirk, marking a rare statement from her following her involvement in a crypto controversy.
Haliey Welch captured viral attention in June 2024 with a playful oral sex joke.
During an interview on Tim & Dee TV, she humorously suggested that to make a guy ‘go crazy’ in bed, one should “hawk tuah’ and spit on that thing.” This comment quickly earned her the nickname “Hawk Tuah girl.”
Building on this newfound fame, Haliey expanded her presence on social media and ventured into various endeavors, including merchandise and a cryptocurrency coin.
However, her reputation took a hit when she introduced a failing memecoin, with numerous buyers claiming to have lost their ‘life savings’ in the process.
Recently, Haliey broke her silence to comment on the death of the contentious political commentator.
Kirk was fatally shot in the neck during a college event on September 10, causing panic among attendees who sought cover.
In an Instagram video, Haliey admitted she typically avoids serious topics on her channel but felt compelled to address this issue.
“Over the last few days, I’ve seen some of the most outrageous and heinous things that you could possibly see on this app,” she expressed. “I don’t really give a s*** who I offend when I say this but for some people to get on this app and applaud another human being unalived, in front of his family, that is f***ing sick.”
“You’re a sick, f***ing individual.”
Haliey continued to challenge those criticizing Kirk, highlighting how some appear to be celebrating his passing.
“You didn’t have to agree with anything that man said, not a single thing he said, preached, practised, anything. But you should have a little bit of sympathy for his wife and for his kids that were there with them.
“And just be f***ing respectful, like the man literally just passed away two or three days ago.
“And if you didn’t like him, you don’t have nothing nice to say, don’t f***ing say nothing at all like, oh my god, is it that f***ing hard?”
In conclusion, Haliey discussed the shared humanity among people, commenting on the increasing division within American society and describing it as one of the country’s biggest issues.
“If this past week hasn’t opened some of y’alls eyes man.
“We live in a mean and evil a** world,” Haliey stated before touching upon the tragic stabbing of a young Ukrainian refugee on a North Carolina train.
She encouraged her followers to exhibit more compassion and to strive to be kinder.
“And if you just can’t seem to do that, then you have a f***ing day you deserve and the chickens will be coming home to roost for your a**. Good day,” she wrapped up.
Despite her message, some followers criticized her, recalling her past controversies.
“Remember when you robbed your fans with your coin scam rug pull?” one person retorted.
“You scammed people through your crypto rug pull… stay offline forever,” another added on Twitter.
In 2024, Haliey’s memecoin activities were investigated by the US Securities and Exchange Commission, which ultimately found no grounds for charges.
“The SEC closed the investigation without making any findings against, or seeking any monetary sanctions from, Haliey,” her attorney noted at the time.
“Because they did not bring any action against her, there are no restrictions on what she can do in regards to crypto or securities in the future.”
