The spotlight has once again found Haliey Welch, also known as the ‘Hawk Tuah’ girl.
Haliey Welch gained widespread attention earlier this year with a viral video in June showcasing a unique move she uses with partners that reportedly drives them ‘crazy’.
Now 22 years old and with a net worth estimated at $200,000 by Celebrity Net Worth, Welch is well-known across social media as the ‘Hawk Tuah girl’. Despite her fame, speculation emerged about her potentially suing the video creators who catapulted her to stardom.
Rumors suggested Welch might take legal action against Tim Dickerson and DeArius Marlow, known as Tim & Dee TV. This was further fueled by a Twitter post from DramaAlert, which claimed the creators themselves confirmed the possibility of a lawsuit.
In response, Welch addressed the allegations by posting a meme from Legally Blonde, featuring her face on Reese Witherspoon’s iconic courtroom scene.
She simply labeled the post: “Fake news.”
Although she isn’t planning to sue, Welch has made it clear there is no affection between her and the creators. She has no intention of thanking them, even though they played a role in her rise to fame.
During an interview on The Bobby Bones Show, Welch discussed the video that led to her fame.
Welch claims she hasn’t profited from the video, as the rights belong to the original creators.
When asked if she had acknowledged the creators, she replied: “Tell him thank you for what?”
Pressed further about the video’s role in her fame, she added: “Well, see, we reached out to him and I asked him to stop posting those videos and he never did. He blocked us all on everything.”
She concluded: “So I’m not telling him thank you for anything.”
Regardless, Welch is thriving after the video’s success, announcing a new business endeavor.
In a social media clip, she reflected on how her life had ‘chang[ed] forever’ because of the viral video, hinting that she’s far from finished with her moment in the spotlight and is ‘just getting started’.
