Haliey Welch, popularly known online as the ‘Hawk Tuah Woman,’ has shared insights about her family.
Welch gained internet fame after a memorable interview where she was asked to describe a move that makes men ‘go crazy’.
The 21-year-old responded: “You gotta give ’em that ‘hawk tuah’ and spit on that thang. You get me?”
In this context, ‘that thang’ refers to a leather boot, which she suggests spitting on to polish it effectively, impressing people with its shine.
If you interpreted it differently, that’s on you.
Following the viral video on social media, Welch has embraced her moment in the digital limelight.
This includes public appearances and launching her own line of hats featuring her catchphrase.
Recently, Welch discussed her family background in an interview on Whitney Cummings’ weekly podcast, Good For You.
During the interview, Welch candidly spoke about her family, particularly her mother.
The conversation took an interesting turn when Welch mentioned her celebrity crush, comedian Matt Rife.
Coincidentally, Cummings is friends with Rife and decided to FaceTime him, giving Welch the chance to meet him.
After learning Welch’s age, Rife asked: “How is your mom?”
Welch responded frankly: “My mama a crackhead, you don’t want her,” and proceeded to refer to herself as a ‘crack baby.’
She attributed her humor to her upbringing.
Rife then invited Welch to one of his shows in Nashville.
He said: “I’m in Nashville August 24th doing Bridgestone Arena, do you want to come out?”
Welch, giggling, accepted Rife’s invitation.
The comedian then inquired about her seating preference for the gig: “Do you want front row, or do you wanna be off to the side like backstage? What do you prefer?”
Welch confidently replied: “Put me back there with you, my boy.”
Rife responded: “Oh my God, you gotta meet more celebrities if I’m your celebrity crush. This is so cute.”
As the call concluded, Rife ended with: “Love you Haliey, see you soon.”
