Heartfelt last message daughter sent mother before vanishing during road trip

Authorities are currently on the lookout for a woman from Florida who sent a distressing last message to her mother before vanishing.

Ganna Kovrizhnykh, aged 38, last communicated with her family on July 5 while she was on a road trip in San Diego County. She was officially reported missing on July 12 after her Jeep Grand Cherokee and trailer were found deserted in Potrero, near the Mexican border.

A few days prior to her disappearance, Ganna’s mother received an image of a letter, which was allegedly written by Ganna herself.

According to a post on the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System, “On 07/05/2025, Kovrizhnykh’s mother received a photograph of a letter along with GPS coordinates from Potrero, California.”

The letter reportedly contained instructions for her mother to take control of her personal assets.

“On 07/12/2025, Kovrizhnykh’s Jeep Grand Cherokee and camper trailer were found apparently abandoned near the 25000 block of Potrero Park Drive.”

Sergeant Jacob Klepach, speaking to KNSD, stated that it is unclear whether foul play was involved in Ganna’s disappearance.

“We believe she was just kind of touring the country and she left her vehicle in Potrero and never came back to her vehicle,” he said.

“We don’t really have any belief one way or another at this point if there is foul play involved or if she just strictly voluntarily left.”

Images of Ganna, who also goes by Angel Volnaya, have been circulated, including those showing her tattoos. She is described as five feet and five inches tall, weighing 100 pounds, with blonde hair and blue eyes and possibly wearing a wig.

San Diego County Crime Stoppers have also released a statement regarding Ganna, indicating a $1,000 reward for information leading to her whereabouts.

“Ganna Kovrizhynkh was reported missing to the Sheriff’s Office by a friend on July 12, 2025. Family members say they last heard from Kovrizhynkh on July 5 while she drove through San Diego County as part of a cross-country trip. Her vehicle and trailer were later found unattended in Potrero,” the statement reveals.

“Kovrizhynkh’s current whereabouts and status are unknown. Sheriff’s Detectives say it is possible she may have crossed the U.S./Mexico border into the Tecate area of Baja California, Mexico. At this time, the circumstances surrounding Kovrizhnykh disappearance are unclear, and it is unknown whether she is a voluntarily missing person or if criminal activity is involved.”

Authorities are appealing for any information that could assist in locating Ganna. Anyone with knowledge of her situation should contact the San Diego County Sheriff’s Office at (858) 868-3200.
