Three young sisters—ages five, eight, and nine—were reported missing after their father failed to return them following a scheduled custody visit in Wenatchee, Washington.
The children’s mother contacted authorities on Friday, May 30, when Travis Decker did not bring back the girls as arranged. The family had been residing in the Wenatchee area.
In a tragic development, all three children were discovered deceased at Rock Island Campground, located approximately 40 miles from their residence, on Monday, June 2.
Although the children have been located, their father remains a fugitive and faces charges of first-degree murder and first-degree kidnapping.
The Wenatchee Police Department issued a statement expressing their grief over the devastating outcome. Officials stated they were deeply saddened by the discovery and extended their heartfelt sympathies to the affected family during this difficult period.
Law enforcement emphasized their ongoing communication with family members throughout every phase of the investigation process.
Authorities believe the 32-year-old suspect is currently without permanent housing and has been staying in his vehicle while moving between various motels and camping facilities.
Police are requesting public assistance in locating the suspect while strongly advising against any direct contact with him.
The individual is described as approximately 5 feet 8 inches in height, weighing around 190 pounds, with dark hair and brown eyes. He was last observed wearing light-colored upper clothing and dark shorts.
Law enforcement officials have specifically warned the public about approaching the suspect, citing his military experience as creating a substantial safety risk. His armed status remains unknown to investigators.
