Heidi Klum has offered a fresh glimpse of her 2026 Halloween transformation, and the early signs point to something slimy, gory, and deliberately baffling.
The supermodel, 53, posted a close-up teaser on Instagram Saturday that showed a grotesque prosthetic surface covered in what appeared to be wet, organic texture. The image gave almost nothing away about the final character, leaving followers to flood the comments with scattered guesses that ranged from a coral reef in St. Barts to a mushroom zombie from the film *The Last of Us*. Some compared the close-up to human organs; others thought it looked like something pulled from the ocean floor.

The post carried a direct challenge to her audience: “What’s my costume?” Klum paired the question with a string of emojis — a magnifying glass, ghost, pumpkin, blood drop, bat, and spider web — that only deepened the mystery. She also used the caption to start a one-week countdown to the holiday itself.
Klum had already begun dropping clues in a recent interview with *People*. “It goes very well with red wine,” she said. “It’s very, very bloody.” She expanded on the pairing in the same conversation, connecting the aesthetic to a specific prop. “A great glass of wine is always fun… and most of the time you think of something gory when you have a blood transfusion bag,” she also shared. “That’s what Halloween is all about. We go gory, and we go there.”

The German-born model has built a reputation over two decades for costumes that demand total physical commitment. Her 2024 appearance at the Hard Rock Hotel in New York marked her 24th annual Halloween party, where she arrived on the red carpet as Medusa in a hand-painted creation with green scales that tapered into a rattlesnake’s tail and animatronic snakes replacing her hair. Her husband, Tom Kaulitz, 35, the Tokio Hotel guitarist, accompanied her dressed as a concrete soldier. The couple, who often coordinate looks, have previously paired as an alien and astronaut in 2019.
Klum’s Instagram Stories on Saturday added another layer of preparation footage, showing her browsing through a fabric store for materials. The casual clip contrasted sharply with the finished result she eventually unveils each year.
Her past transformations have included a worm in 2022, an old woman, a peacock, E.T., and a skinless human body in 2011. She has been posting throwback images of these earlier costumes as a countdown mechanism in the days leading up to this year’s event.

The 2026 party will be held at a venue yet to be publicly confirmed, with the countdown clock now at seven days.
