A spatula-wielding customer is being praised as a hero after leaping through a drive-thru window to stop a woman terrorizing staff at a California In-N-Out Burger.
The confrontation unfolded last week at the Lake Elsinore location in Southern California, where a woman armed with a large piece of wood had chased employees into a back room, according to a witness who filmed the encounter. The customer, who has not been publicly identified, was waiting in the drive-thru line when the chaos erupted inside.
The witness said she first heard a young man in the vehicle ahead of her yell through the window at the woman to “Get the F out of here.” She initially assumed the two knew each other and were having some kind of “beef.”
“And he gets out of his car and he jumps through the window like he’s Spiderman or does this Jackie Chan move feet first through the window,” the witness said.
The footage shows the man landing inside the restaurant with a spatula in hand, immediately engaging the woman as she takes multiple swings at him with the wooden plank. The witness said no staff were visible in the kitchen when the driver made his move.
“And he starts battling this lady with the stick,” she added.
The video ends after the man appears to lunge at the woman. The witness later learned what had sparked the rampage: the woman was “upset because they didn’t make her burger fast enough.”
“But this kid, like totally, saved the day,” the witness said.
She called on the popular burger chain to reward the man with “burgers for life” for his bravery. The footage has since drawn widespread praise online, with commenters hailing the customer’s courage.
“A lot of people don’t have the balls to stand up for others or even themselves these days! I give this kid mad props!!!” one person wrote.
“Yeah burgers for life for this young man. This is the way,” another added.
The woman who allegedly caused the disturbance has not been identified in available reports, and it remains unclear whether she faced any charges following the incident. The In-N-Out location has not issued a public statement about the confrontation or any potential recognition for the customer who intervened.
