Russian Artist Creates Hyper-Realistic Dolls That Are Beautiful And Totally Creepy

A Russian artist has created dolls so astonishingly life-like that they walk a fine line between delicate, beautiful craftsmanship and beings that might come alive and murder us in our sleep.

Russian doll maker Michael Zakjov crafts these astonishingly realistic dolls.

He discovered his talent whilst making puppets for a theatre as a postgrad student.

Michael’s dolls shot to fame after he displayed his creations at an Art Dolls expo in Moscow.

He uses French mohair for the dolls’ curly locks and hand-painted glass eyes from Germany. So European, dahling.

The dolls are dressed in gorgeous period costumes, complete with bonnets and nosegays.

There’s no denying the dolls are very beautiful and Michael is super talented…

But that glassy stare is the stuff of nightmares.

Okay, we’ll admit we admire these teeny-tiny boots.

But we’re not so sure how we feel about these poor decapitated girls.

If we keep telling ourselves this is just a very good-looking boiled egg, it’s not scary.

Nope.

Double nope.

Just attach them to their bodies and stop showing off your collection of severed heads, Michael.

That’s better. Sort of.

If you just love the sensation of your skin crawling, you can check out Michael’s Instagram. Enjoy your nightmares.
