Hilary Swank has announced she is pregnant with her third child.
The 52-year-old Oscar winner revealed the news Wednesday on Instagram with a family video featuring her husband, Philip Schneider, and their 3-year-old twins, Aya and Ohm. The clip showed the family dressed in black with neon glow sticks, with Swank wearing additional glow sticks arranged in the shape of a baby on her stomach.
“A lot of people have been asking what project I’m doing next, this one releases in December. 😉👼🏼🫶🏼,” she wrote in the caption.
Swank’s playful wording framed the pregnancy as her latest “project,” a nod to her decades-long acting career that has included two Academy Awards for Best Actress. The December reference suggests she is due around the holiday season, though she did not specify an exact date.
The twins, Aya and Ohm, were born in April 2022. Swank and Schneider, a social venture entrepreneur, married in 2018 after two years of dating. The couple’s low-key wedding took place in the redwoods of California.
Swank has spoken openly about becoming a mother later in life. She was 48 when she gave birth to the twins, and her latest pregnancy comes at 52. In previous interviews, she has addressed the challenges and joys of later-in-life motherhood, including the physical demands and the perspective she felt she gained with age.
The family’s coordinated outfits and glow-stick accessories in Wednesday’s video gave the announcement a festive, dance-party atmosphere. The children appeared to participate in the choreography alongside their parents.
Swank first shared news of her twins’ arrival in an Instagram post at the time, calling them “a dream come true.” She has since posted occasional glimpses of family life while largely maintaining privacy around her children’s day-to-day activities.
Her career spans more than three decades, from early television roles to breakthrough performances in “Boys Don’t Cry” and “Million Dollar Baby,” both of which earned her Oscars. She has continued working steadily in recent years, with roles in television and film projects.
