Holland Taylor has recently commented on the idea of marrying her longtime partner, Sarah Paulson.
Sara Paulson, known for her role in American Horror Story, has been in a relationship with Taylor, who is 32 years older, for nearly a decade.
The couple first crossed paths in 2005 but began their relationship several years later, making their romance public in 2015.
Paulson has shared insights on how they’ve maintained their lasting relationship, noting there’s a ‘secret’ behind their success.
“We don’t live together, that’s the sort of secret,” she previously revealed on the SmartLess podcast. “Holland and I, we spend plenty of time together but we don’t live in the same house.”
Paulson added: “We’ve been together for a long time now and I think part of it has to do with, we’re together when we wanna be and we’re not when we don’t.”
Recently, Holland Taylor, known for her role in Two and a Half Men, addressed the topic of marriage, suggesting it’s not a priority for the couple.
Talking to Andy Cohen on his SiriusXM channel Radio Andy, Taylor mentioned: “I don’t think [we’ll get married]. We’ve never talked about it with any interest. It doesn’t seem to mean to us what it means to a lot of people.”
Paulson and Taylor are not the only celebrity couple to opt out of marriage despite long-term relationships; others like Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell, Rose Byrne and Bobby Cannavale, and Sam Rockwell and Leslie Bibb have also chosen to forgo the institution for various reasons.
Addressing their 32-year age difference, Taylor said: “We have a big generational difference between us, which worries me for her sake. But, you know… what can I do?”
Despite this, the 81-year-old emphasized that they have a ‘wonderful romance’ and share many common interests, bridging their generational gap.
In January, Taylor celebrated her 81st birthday, and Sarah Paulson marked the occasion with a heartfelt Instagram tribute.
Accompanying a video montage of their shared moments over the years, Paulson wrote: “My phone made this. And I like it. Happy Birthday to my one and only love.”
“I love you,” Paulson added, tagging Taylor and humorously noting: “(don’t be mad about the second to last picture, I didn’t know how to take it out, plus there are pictures of me with no eyebrows, so-).”
Cute!
