Homeland Security Secretary acknowledges that Minneapolis shooting by ICE resulting in woman’s death was ‘avoidable’

In a recent confrontation with ICE, Renee Nicole Good, aged 37, was fatally shot in what has been described as a ‘preventable’ tragedy.

ICE officers have been active in Minneapolis as part of a stringent enforcement initiative by the White House. However, one such encounter on January 7 resulted in a deadly outcome.

Following the fatal incident involving Renee Nicole Good, the Department of Homeland Security accused her of ‘weaponizing her vehicle’ against officers, labeling the event as an ‘act of domestic terrorism.’

This narrative, however, is under intense scrutiny and faces significant opposition.

Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey criticized the ICE officer for acting recklessly, disputing claims by federal officials that the officer’s actions were in self-defense.

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem addressed the incident in a press conference, defending the agents’ use of force while acknowledging that Good’s death was ‘preventable.’

Noem remarked: “Any loss of life is a tragedy and I think all of us can agree that, in this situation, it was preventable.”

She criticized Frey’s remarks, stating: “He doesn’t know what he’s talking about.

“It’s very clear that this individual was harassing and impeding law enforcement operations. This officer followed his training, did exactly what he’s been taught to do in that situation.”

A video capturing the shooting has circulated on social media, prompting Donald Trump to speak on the matter via Truth Social.

Trump commented: “I have just viewed the clip of the event which took place in Minneapolis, Minnesota. It is a horrible thing to watch.

“The woman screaming was, obviously, a professional agitator, and the woman driving the car was very disorderly, obstructing and resisting, who then violently, willfully, and viciously ran over the ICE Officer, who seems to have shot her in self defense.”

Mayor Frey countered this perspective, arguing against the justification of the officer’s actions.

He stated: “Having seen the video myself, I want to tell everybody directly, that is bullsh*t.

“This was an agent recklessly using power that resulted in somebody dying, getting killed.”

During a press conference, he demanded ICE to ‘get the f*** out of Minneapolis.’

He further added: “They are not here to cause safety in this city. What they are doing is not to provide safety in America. What they are doing is causing chaos and distrust.”
