Hunter Biden has sharply responded to Melania Trump after she threatened him with a $1 billion lawsuit due to statements he made regarding her alleged connections to Jeffrey Epstein.
Following Donald Trump’s return to the presidency for a second term, the Epstein case has gained notable attention.
In a recent interview, Hunter Biden, son of the former President Joe Biden, alleged that Melania Trump was introduced to Donald Trump by Epstein, the convicted sex offender.
During his conversation with filmmaker Andrew Callaghan, Biden remarked, “Epstein introduced Melania to Trump – the connections are so wide and deep.” He further suggested in the interview that files related to Epstein might ‘implicate’ President Trump.
According to the BBC, Melania’s legal representatives sent a letter to Biden demanding he retract his ‘false, disparaging, defamatory and inflammatory’ remarks and issue an apology, or they would pursue a lawsuit seeking at least $1 billion.
The BBC noted that the basis for Biden’s assertion partly came from journalist Michael Wolff. Wolff, in a now-deleted Daily Beast interview, stated that Melania was ‘known’ to an acquaintance of Epstein when she initially met Donald Trump.
Before its removal, the Daily Beast included an update that stated: “After this story was published, The Beast received a letter from First Lady Melania Trump’s attorney challenging the headline and framing of the article. After reviewing the matter, the Beast has taken down the article and apologizes for any confusion or misunderstanding.”
In response to the legal threat, Hunter Biden gave a stark reply during a recent Channel 5 interview.
“F*** that, that’s not going to happen,” he declared.
It’s important to mention that no confirmed evidence supports the claim that Epstein introduced Melania to Trump. Melania has consistently stated that she met her husband at a modeling agency event in 1998.
Jeffrey Epstein, a convicted sex offender, was found dead in August 2019 in his cell at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in Manhattan, New York City.
Epstein had been detained earlier that year and was 66 years old when he died while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges, to which he had pleaded not guilty.
The Justice Department has previously indicated the possession of over 200 documents related to Epstein, with the FBI reportedly holding thousands more.
Hunter Biden’s attorney has been contacted for a statement.
