A photograph of the sky has garnered praise as a ‘rare good post’ and is being described as a ‘glitch in the matrix,’ with some even believing it to be ‘just the actual matrix.’
Some people have been left convinced that The Matrix is more than just a film starring Keanu Reeves, pointing to peculiar instances like a group of birds seemingly ‘freezing’ or an eerie photograph of someone in a wedding dress as evidence that we might be living in a sci-fi scenario.
Adding to these speculations, another image has been circulating on social media that appears to confirm these fears.
A Reddit user by the name of u/twisted_stinkeye shared a photograph on the thread r/GlitchInTheMatrix. The image shows the sky, sun, and a road with a drawn arrow pointing to a specific part of the sky where the sun is visible through the clouds.
The caption reads: “I thought it was a reflection in the clouds then zoomed in.”
Zooming into the image reveals that the arrow points not just to clouds and sunlight, but also to a small area of green dots peeking through the clouds. This unusual sight has left many people puzzled, as it looks out of place and somewhat alien-like.
The image quickly drew attention and comments from various users.
One user, u/Phyllida_Poshtart, commented: “Right then so no glitch in the matrix……just the actual matrix. Excellent. Not sure what the hell that could be tbh but it looks very symbolic in a close up.”
Another user, u/Etucc, simply remarked: “Rare good post.”
TikToker Grace, known as @gracefulshift, also analyzed the image on her page.
The TikToker identified the anomaly as a ‘lens flare from the sun’ but was puzzled by its ‘honeycomb’ shape.
She initially thought it was a ‘coincidence’ that she kept seeing honeycomb-shaped lens flares, but after noticing that ‘multiple people from multiple different areas’ were also spotting them, she decided to delve deeper.
Grace mentioned she had only seen photographic evidence of this honeycomb flare in ‘the last couple of days’ and urged others to come forward if they had similar experiences.
“What is this? Why is this? It’s really strange. There’s talks of fake suns in the sky, like are you serious?”
However, a simpler explanation might be at hand.

SimplyMac explains that these peculiar green dots are likely the result of pointing your camera ‘directly towards a light source.’
When you aim your camera at a light source, such as the sun in the photograph, the light reflects and scatters off parts of the camera lens.
This scattering of light can appear in the image as either a streak of light or a green dot, explaining the phenomenon seen in the photograph.
So, no Matrix this time, sorry Keanu fans.
