Influencer, 30, passes away from ‘extremely rare complication’ during home birth

Stacey Warnecke, a well-known health influencer, tragically died due to ‘extremely rare’ complications that occurred after she gave birth at home.

Stacey, who lived in Melbourne, was a nutritionist recognized for sharing content about healthy eating and lifestyle on her various social media platforms.

Nathan Hatfield, Stacey’s husband, shared the heart-wrenching news of her passing last month, confirming that she died during the home birth of their first child.

In a poignant message to her followers, Nathan detailed the tragic events surrounding Stacey’s death, accompanied by a photo from their wedding day.

He expressed: “Its with heavy heart that i share with you the unexpected passing of my beautiful wife, soul mate and best friend, Stacey Warnecke (Hatfield).

“Stace passed on the 29th September 2025 after successfully giving birth to our firstborn son, Axel, at home. Tragically, shortly after, an unforeseen and extremely rare complication arose and she passed after being transferred to hospital.

“Hospital staff were amazing and did the utmost to help, but ultimately nothing could be done despite their best efforts.

“I knew Stace for 9 amazing years, she was the light of my life and the reason I got up in the morning. Words can’t do justice to how devastating this is for myself and everyone that knew and loved her. She was my lighthouse in the storm and the world is less bright without her in it.

“As her husband, i couldn’t ask for a better partner. She was the most beautiful, loving, caring, hardworking, disciplined, intelligent and trustworthy human being I’ve ever known. She made me the man I am today and everything i have in life is all thanks to her.

“The happiest day of my life was getting to marry her, my best friend, on a white sand beach in the Maldives.”

The announcement prompted an outpouring of support and heartfelt messages from the page’s many followers.

Nathan concluded his tribute by expressing gratitude for the messages received and noted, ‘If there’s one thing that I can try and reconcile in this horrible time is that her last moments on earth were the happiest i’ve ever seen her’.

He did not elaborate on the specific complication that led to Stacey’s death. Additionally, Nathan has created a GoFundMe account to provide financial support for himself and Axel in the future.

To date, the campaign has raised over $33,000 AUD ($21,453) of its $50,000 goal.
