Influencer Nara Smith Defends Having Four Kids Before Age 24

Nara Smith is pushing back against critics who questioned her choice to have four children before turning 24.

The 25-year-old influencer, who shares Rumble, 6, Slim, 4, Whimsy, 2, and Fawnie, 12 months, with husband Lucky Blue Smith, 26, opened up about her family timeline during an October 8 appearance on the Aspire podcast. She welcomed her first child at 19 and her youngest arrived on her 24th birthday last year.

“I was 19 when I had my first and I had my last a year ago,” Nara said on the podcast. “I wanted kids younger. I didn’t know how young, but I knew I didn’t want to be an old mom.”

Her father’s experience shaped that perspective directly. Nara explained that her dad had children at 45 and later told her he wished he had started earlier because of energy levels. “He had a transparent conversation with us about it, and I saw that and heard him,” she continued.

Lucky Blue Smith was already aligned with that outlook when the couple got together in 2019. “We wanted six kids when we were dating,” Nara revealed. Her own enthusiasm cooled after two children, though. “I was like, ‘I think I’m actually done after having two kids. This feels like a lot.'”

The family kept growing from there. Lucky wanted another, and Nara drew on her own childhood with two siblings. “I have two siblings, so I was like, ‘You know what, I really like the number of three—so let’s have three,'” she said. Their fourth daughter Fawnie came as a complete surprise. “And then our fourth baby was a surprise. She was not supposed to be here, but now she’s the most precious thing and I couldn’t imagine my life without her.”

The couple’s rapid-fire family building drew online criticism, with some judging Nara for starting motherhood as a teenager. She acknowledged the financial reality caught her off guard at first. “I was a little too young to grasp” the money side of raising children, she admitted.

Still, she maintains the timing worked in her favor professionally and personally. “When I’m 40, they’ll be out of the house,” Nara said. “At the end of the day, to me, it doesn’t make a major difference in my career or what I’m doing,” She added that she doesn’t believe “kids hold you back.”

The family’s public profile intensified this year when Nara revealed on social media that Whimsy, then 2, had been diagnosed with cancer. The announcement came as the toddler began treatment, adding medical stress to an already full household. In a follow-up post weeks later, Nara shared that Whimsy had entered remission.

Nara rose to prominence on TikTok during the COVID-19 pandemic with videos blending home life, cooking content, and glimpses of her growing family. Her platform expanded alongside her household, with brand partnerships and sponsorships building her into a major lifestyle influencer. The Smiths’ combined social media presence—his modeling career and her content creation—has kept the family in constant public view.

The “tradwife” label has followed her as her content emphasized domestic skills, though she has rejected the political framing around that term. On the podcast, she pushed back against assumptions that her early motherhood reflected any ideological agenda rather than personal preference.

“It kind of just all slotted into place,” Nara said of how the family came together. “And I couldn’t be more grateful.”

Nara and Lucky Blue Smith continue to share family updates across their social media platforms.
