Junior Ubiribo has defended his late father against speculation that insecurity drove him to seek repeated penile enlargement procedures.
The son of British influencer Igho ‘Tiny’ Ubiribo, 43, spoke after his father’s death in Bangkok this March following a fifth cosmetic injection. Junior Ubiribo insisted his father had nothing to be ashamed of anatomically, pushing back against narratives that have circulated since the tragedy became public.
“No one [in the family] believes that the procedure was the cause of his death,” Junior said.
“He didn’t have a micro penis, he didn’t have anything to be ashamed of. He’s had multiple partners, he wouldn’t need a penis enlargement.”
The younger Ubiribo found the media coverage particularly painful. “It’s actually quite painful to read these reports about him having this surgery because he didn’t need it,” he continued. His father, known online as Ego2222, had built a following of 186,000 with posts showcasing designer clothing and luxury vacations.
The family remains confused about why Igho Ubiribo underwent the procedure at all, Junior indicated. The businessman had traveled to Thailand specifically for the treatment, which an inquest at Westminster Coroner’s Court determined triggered a fatal pulmonary embolism.
The medical cause of death was recorded as ‘genital hyaluronic acid injection,’ with filler material discovered in his lungs. Hours after his appointment, while receiving a massage at a hotel, Ubiribo experienced chest pain and collapsed. He was transported to Samitivej Hospital but died in the early hours of March 6.
Thai authorities have now opened an investigation into the clinic where the procedure was performed. Health minister Pattana Phromphat told reporters this week that the department of health service support and the food and drug administration are examining both the facility and the specific treatment Ubiribo received.
“When it comes to medical procedures, we advocate for the highest level of caution,” Mr Phromphat said.
The ministry of public health ordered the probe following coverage of the case. Clinic management reportedly informed investigators that Ubiribo had been a patient since 2024, undergoing five penile enlargement procedures total. The first four took place across 2024 and 2025, with the fifth proving fatal.
