‘Insane’ Netflix documentary leaves viewers ‘terrified’ and sleepless after just one episode

Netflix has unveiled a gripping true crime documentary that delves into the chilling accounts of individuals who endured extreme actions from their former partners after breakups.

This documentary is so unsettling that many viewers find it difficult to watch in its entirety.

The series, which debuted on Netflix in August, explores ‘the dark side of love’ as described in its synopsis, highlighting various disturbing and often criminal relationships that ended disastrously.

Named Worst Ex Ever, this four-part series is a continuation of the popular Worst Roommate Ever.

Upon its release, Worst Ex Ever quickly climbed to the top of Netflix’s TV charts, with audiences continuing to discuss the harrowing stories presented.

Each episode features a particularly vile ex-partner. One, titled ‘Dating the Devil’, centers on an abusive individual, while another episode, ‘Married to a Monster’, depicts someone who hired a hitman after a separation.

In another case, a man falsely claimed to be a police officer and had his ex-girlfriend falsely arrested after subjecting her to abuse. Another plot involves a person attempting to frame their partner for murder to gain custody.

With horror films, the comfort lies in knowing the terrifying elements are fictional.

But true crime documentaries reflect real-life horror stories, making them even more disturbing.

As a result, many viewers have been so unnerved that they struggle to sleep, even after just one episode.

On X (formerly known as Twitter), one viewer shared: “Watched worst ex ever on Netflix proceeded to not get any sleep last night… I cannot watch true crime stuff it terrifies me.”

Another echoed this sentiment: “Bro, the first episode of Worst Ex Ever on netflix is f*****g TERRIFYING this is not light watching this is appalling”.

One person commented: “Can’t stop watching Worst Roommate Ever on Netflix… between this and Worst Ex Ever I am for sure never dating again”.

In a Reddit discussion, a viewer exclaimed: “Holy s*** this series was insane! …Disappointed there were only 4 episodes.”

Another added: “I’ve watched a lot of true crime, but every episode of this show had my jaw on the floor.”

Worst Ex Ever is currently available for streaming on Netflix.
