Intoxicated Fans Allegedly Push 8-Year-Old Cancer Survivor Down Stairs at Her First NFL Game, Mother Reports

A mother has reported an incident where her eight-year-old daughter, a cancer survivor, was allegedly pushed down the stairs by intoxicated fans at her first NFL game on Sunday, December 1.

While football enthusiasts are known for their enthusiasm, some Buffalo Bills fans have faced criticism for their alleged treatment of a young cancer survivor.

Attending the Bills game against the San Francisco 49ers, Mikey DeCamilla shared her disheartening experience on Facebook.

In her post, she included photos of Mia, who had battled embryonal sarcoma, holding a sign that read: ‘I Beat Cancer! My First NFL Game!’

Mikey wrote: “Sadly we left earlier than planned. Yes, the Niners are losing, but unfortunately we had to deal with the police because a drunk Bills fan decides it was cool to pass my husband and I and pushed our eight year old daughter Warrior Mia DeCamilla (down the stairs, in section 312!).”

She continued: “If you are this type of Bills Mafia fan please unfollow our family now.!!!!! Also, I hope the a**hole who thought it was cool to push a kid that stood in the cold with her cancer free sign was so worth your win!”

The distressing account has gained significant attention on social media, being widely shared on platforms like Twitter and Facebook.

A previously established GoFundMe by Mia’s family during her cancer battle has regained attention, with donations nearing $25,000 as of now.

The GoFundMe page details Mia’s journey: “Mid January 2022, Mia was diagnosed with Childhood undifferentiated embryonal sarcoma of the liver. Mia completed 4 months of presurgery chemo. On May 23rd, 2022 Mia had a 12 hour long surgery to resect her liver. Mia then followed surgery with 8 weeks of chemo to finally reach remission on July 25th.”

“To ease the family of financial stress and make each day a bit easier to pay for food in hospital, fuel, bills, mortgage, I am asking for any donations that are all so very appreciated.

“While we as outsiders feel helpless and can’t do a lot to support the family, this is the biggest and best way we can support them and help them through this journey once again.”

Kate Glaser, a journalist covering the Buffalo area, shared the mother’s original post, noting: “The Bills have also reached out to provide Mia a better stadium experience with a future visit.”
