Forget Black Friday Sales, This Online Retailer Is Paying Pet Adoption Fees For Thanksgiving

Rather than offering discounts this Black Friday, online retailer Zappos is helping unwanted pets around the US find new forever homes.

The online retailer has teamed up with Best Friends Animal Society to pay adoption fees for anyone looking for a furry friend between November 27th to 30th.

All you need to do to adopt a cat or dog is find an adoption center, let them know you’d like to adopt between Black Friday and Cyber Monday and take home a fluffy addition to your family for precisely $0.

Last year, Zappos partnered with Feeding America to feed the homeless over Thanksgiving. For 2015, they’ve turned their attention to the four-legged members of society who are in need.

On top of covering adoption fees, Zappos will also donate $150 to the Best Friends Animal Society to care for animals still waiting on a forever home.

Steven Bautista, Head of Karma (apparently that’s a thing) at Zappos told AOL: “Thousands of dogs and cats are in need of a loving home and we’re excited to give customers the ability to make a difference.”

If you’d rather rehome a kitten than wrestle your way through Walmart this weekend, you can find the 150 participating shelters at the Best Friends Animal Society website.
