Jack Osbourne has shared insights about his relationship with his eldest sister, long considered the ‘forgotten’ member of the Osbourne family.
Before the Kardashians rose to fame, The Osbournes were MTV’s iconic rock family, capturing viewers with their chaotic and dramatic lives.
The show’s cast included Black Sabbath’s Ozzy Osbourne, his manager wife Sharon, daughter Kelly, and son Jack.
However, few were aware of the existence of another sibling, 41-year-old Aimee Osbourne, who was never featured on the show.
Following the passing of Black Sabbath’s frontman, who died ‘surrounded by love’ at 76, Aimee’s presence became more widely recognized.
His family announced his passing on July 22, just days after his final stage performance.
Ozzy reunited with the original members of Black Sabbath for a performance after two decades, though health concerns remained a topic of conversation as he sang about returning to his home city of Birmingham, UK.
In a behind-the-scenes look at the event on July 9, Kelly Osbourne shared on TikTok her engagement to Slipknot member Sid Wilson.
The background showed Ozzy’s surprised reaction, which fans found endearing.
Ozzy’s death revealed to many that he was a father of six, with three children from his marriage to Sharon.
Nonetheless, Jack and Aimee’s relationship seems less close compared to his bond with Kelly.
Jack Osbourne recently spoke candidly about this during a podcast appearance.
While on the Disrespectfully podcast on July 16, Jack discussed the differing views he and Aimee had about their family’s TV show.
“When the show launched in 2002, Aimee really wanted to be a musician,” Jack explained, noting her interest in artists like Fiona Apple and Mazzy Star.
He further commented that she viewed appearing on MTV as “low-hanging fruit” and didn’t want to leverage the family’s fame.
Despite the show’s success, Aimee chose not to participate.
Jack added: “She was like, ‘If I come on now, I’ll look like I’m jumping on the bandwagon.’ She wanted to stay private and obscure.”
While Kelly and Jack gained fame through the show, Aimee remained ‘forgotten’ as she pursued a music career under the stage name ARO.
When asked about Aimee’s potential regrets about not being on the show, Jack admitted he was unsure of her feelings but shared his perspective.
“I’ve never had that conversation with her,” he said, expressing their distant relationship. “We’re just not close at all.”
He remarked: “I guess if I were her, I’d wonder if life would have been different if I’d been on the show.”
Kelly also reflected on her sister on Dax Shepard’s Armchair Expert podcast in 2021.
She admitted: “We don’t talk. We’re just really different. She doesn’t understand me and I don’t understand her.”
Aimee, who attended her father’s funeral, shared in a 2015 interview with The Independent: “I wouldn’t say there is an ease between us, but there is an acceptance. Do we socialize? No.”
