Jack Osbourne has released an emotional video where he talks about his father’s recent death.
On July 22, the world learned of the passing of rock legend Ozzy Osbourne, who died at the age of 76.
Ozzy had been living with Parkinson’s Disease at the time of his death, but the official cause was determined to be a heart attack.
In the wake of this loss, the Osbourne family has kept a low profile, mourning privately. However, Jack, Ozzy’s son, has now uploaded a 16-minute video on YouTube where he shares more about his father’s passing.
The family had gathered in the UK before Ozzy’s death, with the Black Sabbath icon performing his last concert on July 5 in Birmingham, his hometown.
Before Ozzy’s passing, Jack had returned to Los Angeles. It was there that he received the heartbreaking news of his father’s death.
“My father passed away around 10am in the morning UK time, I was in Los Angeles, I had been back for about a week,” Jack shared.
“After his show, I stuck around for a week with my kids and hung out at the family house in England and it was awesome, my dad was in an amazing mood.”
“It was a lot of fun and looking back now and I am so grateful for that time. My dad was great, he was happy,” Jack continued about his father.
Recalling the distressing moment he learned of Ozzy’s death, Jack said: “I woke up in Los Angeles to a knock on my house door at around 3.45am in the morning.
“Someone who has worked for my family for about 30 years now was knocking on my door and when I looked through my window and I saw it was him, I knew something bad had happened. I was informed that my father had passed.”
Jack had ‘so many thoughts’ upon receiving the news but found some solace in knowing his father was no longer suffering.
“I wish he was still with us all, but he was having a rough go and I think people saw that at the show,” the 39-year-old added.
After learning of his father’s passing, Jack promptly booked a flight back to England to join his family.
