Jaden Smith slammed over ‘ridiculous’ house tour for $47,000 handbag

Jaden Smith’s latest ‘house tour’ has sparked outrage online — largely because there isn’t a house involved at all.

Rather than walking viewers through a new property, the actor and self-styled fashion risk-taker unveiled a home-shaped Louis Vuitton handbag.

As the son of Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith, Jaden has long been in the spotlight, and he’s also built a reputation for bold style swings — from skirts to unconventional silhouettes.

But this time, some people say the shock factor is wearing thin, with critics insisting they’re ‘over’ his attempts to be a fashion disrupter.

The piece causing all the noise is the Maison de Famile purse, designed to resemble the 19th-century country home where the brand’s founder once lived. That original residence can still be found outside Paris in Asnières-sur-Seine.

Unsurprisingly, the statement accessory carries a statement price. The miniature house bag is listed on Louis Vuitton’s Hong Kong site for HK$375,000 — around $47,912.10 USD. .

When he attended the Louis Vuitton show during Paris Fashion Week, Smith happily showed it off on camera. “I got this new amazing bag here,” he told Vogue.

“We got a freakin’ balcony on it, owl on it. It’s insane detailed. Everyone did insane work on it.”

He then opened the bag to reveal multiple tiny drawers inside, highlighting the elaborate craftsmanship.

Online, however, the reaction quickly turned skeptical.

“That’s not a bag, that is a dang jewelry box,” one person on TikTok commented.

“That looks like an advent calendar,” someone else complained.

“That’s a ridiculous accessory,” someone else mused.

A fourth person quipped: “Darn, I lost my keys, let me just open the 20 compartments to see where I put them.”

One unimpressed viewer summed it up bluntly: “It’s a doll house”.

Others leaned into jokes about practicality and age, with one person writing: “I’m too grown up to carry my dollhouse with me.”

Another joke: “I know it costs more than my house.”

Even so, not everyone was dragging him. A number of fans argued the backlash was unnecessary.

One commenter pushed back at the criticism, asking: “Why are we all judging? He’s happy, leave him to it.”

Some viewers were simply impressed by the concept. “That’s really dope actually,” one person wrote, while another added: “Tbh I love the creativity.”

A final supporter even praised Smith’s enthusiasm for the piece, commenting: “He is so proud I love it.”
