Jake Paul has provided an update from the hospital, revealing that he is unable to consume solid food after his recent defeat against Anthony Joshua.
On Friday, December 19, Paul, aged 28 with a record of 12 wins, 2 losses, and 7 knockouts, was defeated by former two-time unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua, aged 36 with a record of 29 wins, 4 losses, and 26 knockouts, at the Casey Center in Miami. The bout, which was scheduled for eight three-minute rounds, ended in the sixth round when Joshua secured a knockout victory using 10 oz gloves.
This marked the first time Paul experienced a stoppage loss in his career, after being knocked down twice in the fifth round and twice more in the sixth by the British fighter.
Instead of attending the post-fight news conference, Paul chose to receive medical attention at the Miami University hospital.

“He took a shower, he drove himself to hospital,” confirmed Nakisa Bidarian, CEO of Most Valuable Promotions.
“A broken jaw is very common in sports, particularly in boxing or MMA. The recovery time is four to six weeks.”
In a recent update, the YouTuber shared that he underwent successful surgery after losing the Netflix purse, reportedly valued at $184 million, according to former UFC champion Michael Bisping. Paul, from Ohio, posted a picture from his hospital bed giving a thumbs up on Saturday, December 20.
“Surgery went well thanks for all the love and support,” he wrote.
“2 [two] titanium plates on each side. Some teeth removed. Have to have only liquids for 7 days so no @doghausdogs,” Paul mentioned, referring to the fast food chain he partners with.

Among the comments, his fiancĂ©e Jutta Leerdam, a Dutch speed skater, expressed her support: “My man,” followed by a heart emoji.
Another supporter wrote: “So glad everything went well. Sending love, prayers, and healing energy your way. Speedy recovery.”
One Instagram user remarked: “Man got hit one time and got his jaw broke.”
Another person added: “Who needs teeth to fight bite and leave dentures for your nex mark.” (Sic)
Paul also shared an X-ray image of his broken jaw, which was caused by Joshua. Despite the injury, he is determined to continue boxing.
“We will heal the broken jaw, come back and fight people my weight,” he told ESPN.

“I’m going for the cruiserweight world championship at some point. I’m going to take a little break. I’ve been going hard for six years, so I’m going to take some time off.”
After the fight, Joshua commented that his performance wasn’t his best and that the victory took longer than he anticipated.
“But the right hand finally found its destination.”
