Jamie Foxx ‘on the mend’ after restaurant scuffle results in ‘stitches’

Jamie Foxx is reportedly ‘recovering’ following an incident at a restaurant during his birthday celebration that resulted in an injury.

The Beverly Hills Police Department received a call about a possible assault with a deadly weapon at Mr. Chow restaurant in Los Angeles shortly after 10pm on Friday, December 13.

“Upon investigation, officers determined that the reported assault with a deadly weapon was unfounded. Instead, the incident involved a physical altercation between parties,” stated the police report.

“The BHPD conducted a preliminary investigation and completed a report documenting the battery. No arrests were made.”

Although the police report did not mention Foxx by name, his spokesperson confirmed that the actor was involved.

CNN reported that Foxx’s spokesperson stated: “Jamie Foxx was at his birthday dinner when someone from another table threw a glass that hit him in the mouth.

“He had to get stitches and is recovering. The police were called and the matter is now in law enforcement’s hands.”

This incident certainly marred Foxx’s 57th birthday celebrations.

The birthday mishap follows closely on the heels of Foxx’s recent health revelations in Netflix’s Jamie Foxx: What Had Happened Was.

Foxx experienced a ‘medical complication’ while working on the Netflix action comedy Back in Action in Atlanta.

An emotional Foxx recounted having a ‘bad headache’ on April 11 of last year and asking a friend for an aspirin.

“I realized quickly that when you’re in a medical emergency, your boys don’t know what the f**k to do,” he joked.

Before he could take the aspirin, Foxx passed out and recalls losing memory for ’20 days.’

Foxx was initially evaluated and sent home with a cortisone shot, but his sister took him to Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta for additional tests.

Further examination revealed that Foxx had suffered a brain bleed leading to a stroke.

The cause of the brain bleed remains unknown, as Foxx explained: “It is a mystery. We still don’t know exactly what happened to me.

“All I can tell you is that I appreciate every prayer because I needed every prayer.”

Foxx entered a coma and reawakened in May 2023, needing a wheelchair for mobility.

The situation was critical, but Foxx fortunately pulled through after undergoing rehabilitation in Chicago.
