25-year-old Jaquie Goncher from Georgia, US, was paralyzed back in 2008, but managed to walk down the aisle on her wedding day last May 22.
Jaquie was paralyzed from the waist down in a swimming accident. She sustained a spinal cord injury from her C5 vertebrae being completely shattered.
After her surgery, doctors told her that she would never walk again.
When she got engaged to her now-husband, Andy Goncher, she started getting physical therapy plus rigorous workouts at the gym.
Jaquie had one goal — to walk down the aisle on her wedding day.
Andy was already expecting his beautiful bride to stand by his side, but the guests had no idea and were completely stunned.
After a year’s worth of hard work, she achieved her goal, and then some.
She managed to make it through the 4-hour-long ceremony without needing her wheelchair.
“I wanted to enjoy my wedding without the wheelchair,” Jaquie said. “Walking down the aisle was awesome but actually standing and dancing for my entire wedding is what really mattered to me.”
